New Website to Increase Tourism in Kent
New Website to Increase Tourism in Kent
The UK’s fastest-growing accommodation listing website launches in Kent this month.
Regional tourism managers are this week being invited to join a new tourism product which will increase bookings for hoteliers and the hospitality industry across Kent. Information regarding iknow-Kent has been sent to accommodation providers across the county, offering them the opportunity to take advantage of 6 months FREE on the UK’s fastest growing accommodation website.
(http://www.iknow-Kent.co.uk) will be officially launched this month (October), in preparation for the pre-Christmas booking season. Anyone owning a guest house, hotel, self-catering property or holiday park, can list their kent hotels on the website for six months free of charge, providing they register their interest before the end of November 2008.
iknow-Kent is a creation of the award-winning iknow-uk ltd. They have successfully released sites in Yorkshire, the Lake District, Devon, Wales, Cornwall, Scotland, Somerset, Dorset and the Northwest over the past five years. Kent is the second of 4 sites to be launched this year to complete the coverage of the South Coast. The sites receive over 150,000 visitors every week; generating over £400 million in booking enquiries for members so far this year.
Their growing reputation attracted Marriott Hotels to become the first customer on their Kent site. Boasting two stunning resorts in Kent; the Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel and the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel and Country Club in Maidstone, Marriott Hotels offer luxurious accommodation, combined with first-class catering and meeting facilities.
The Marriott e-commerce manager for the South and Midlands, Christopher Robinson, said “Online bookings are becoming more and more important as we move through these challenging economic times. We need to ensure Marriott Hotels make the most of all our online opportunities.”
“With so many websites to choose from, it is a case of finding one that works. We choose the iknow-kent site because we wanted to raise our local and national profile, and achieve extra bookings. We are confident that our partnership will deliver this.”
Where iknow-uk differs from most accommodation sites is that it actually works – their sites generated over £440 million in booking enquiries for their customers in 2007 alone. In addition, property owners can change the adverts themselves, as often as they like. The sites are very simple to use and are well ranked in the most popular search engines.
To list your property free for six months, you must register before the end of November 2008.
