1) Identify the benefits in what you’re offering
This one is pretty much self explanatory in the fact in order to sell your product or service, you need to know why people would want to buy it.
2) Show the customer these benefits
People buy benefits opposed to features, you need to show the customer why they need your product or service. Once you have identified the benefits you are always listing the best 2 or 3, don’t try to list them all or people may get tired of reading about it.
3) Make the benefits believable
Don’t over exaggerate the benefits to make potential customers doubt your honesty. With this in mind you could be 100% honest and there will be people that still don’t believe what you are saying. State the benefits in their raw form and you will get better results.
4) Don’t make your advertising too interesting
This may seem odd but the truth is that people don’t buy your product because of your advertising, they buy it because it interests them. Having your ad more interesting than your product will make it easier to forget.
5) Point your potential customers in the right direction
You need to tell people what they need to do, how else are they going to know? This could be something like call in store, give us a call or anything that is required from your audience.
6) Make it clear
This is another common mistake, you will obviously know what you are saying but will your audience? Make sure everything is in its simplest terms so that everyone will understand what you are trying to get across.
7) Monitor the results
You have to be brutal when it comes to the results, if it looks like you could do better – scrap it and start again. No matter how much you loved the campaign itself.
The sooner you learn that the statistics don’t lie you will be able to tune your campaign for the best result.
